Frequently Asked Questions
Do you operate on motorways?
No, we do not operate on motorways. Our service covers local roads and A-roads within 62 miles of our base.
How is mileage calculated?
Mileage is calculated based on the actual road distance traveled from our base to your location and back. The first 10 miles are included in the £60 call-out fee, with additional miles charged at £1.60 each. While we operate within a 62-mile radius, the actual road distance can be up to 100+ miles depending on the route.
What's the difference between radius and road distance?
We operate within a 62-mile radius (straight-line distance) from our base, but the actual road distance can be much longer due to road networks and routing. For example, a location 50 miles away "as the crow flies" might require 80+ miles of actual driving. We charge based on the real road miles traveled.
What counts as waiting time?
Waiting time starts after the first 15 minutes on scene and is charged at £20 per 30-minute period. This includes time spent waiting for keys, access, or dealing with complex loading situations.
Do you recover vans and SUVs?
Yes, we can recover SUVs and light commercial vehicles within our equipment capability. Additional surcharges apply: £10 for SUVs/4x4s, £20 for vans.
Are out-of-hours rates higher?
Yes, we charge a 60% uplift for evenings (20:00-06:00) and 40% for weekends/bank holidays. Combined out-of-hours and weekend work incurs a 100% uplift on the total cost.
Do you offer vehicle storage?
We do not currently offer vehicle storage facilities. We can transport your vehicle to a location of your choice within our operating area.
